Holiday Blues

The holidays may not be the most wonderful time of the year for everyone.

Some people experience increased sadness and even depression.

Kyla Murphy is a clinical therapist with Mental Health and Addictions on the South Shore.

She says every day shouldn’t be a struggle.

“That’s, kind of, a flag,” she says, “to really sit down and think about ‘how am I taking care of myself? Is this something more that I might need support on?’”

Murphy says it’s important not to let healthy habits like diet and exercise get lost in the shuffle.

And adds ask for help when it feels like something more serious than the winter blues.
