The Liverpool Privateers will collect money for the family of Nicole Thomas during the game tonight against the Pictou County Scotians. The club’s Facebook page says money is needed to help the family in a time of sorrow and need. The game begins at 7:15 p.m at Queens Place Emera Centre.

The O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes won their final game of the round robin at the Esso Cup in Halifax. The Hurricanes topped the Prince County Warriors 3-1. They did not advance to the quarter-finals and finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.

Brendan Balcom scored 21 points to help the Park View Panthers boys varsity basketball team to a 84-53 victory over Tantramar. The Panthers will play in the North Nova tournament championship game this evening.
