Push Begins For Sledge Hockey Challenge Volunteers

It’s a chance to help put on a world class event in Bridgewater.

Volunteers are needed for the World Sledge Hockey Challenge at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

There are a number of positions available including game-day operations, time-keepers, security, team hosts and drivers.

General Manager Kevin Benjamin says they are looking for about 100 volunteers.

“Once the new year hits, the event is just a couple weeks away. We’re trying to do the majority of our recruiting prior to the Christmas holidays.”

People can get an application at the LCLC. Those who apply will also need a criminal record check.

The event is scheduled from January 17-23.
