The MP for South Shore – St. Margaret’s has made an impression on her colleagues.
Bernadette Jordan has been elected as the chair of the Atlantic Caucus by other members of parliament in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Jordan was elected to the position over Darrell Samson, the MP for Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook.
She says there are a lot of similar concerns across Atlantic Canada.
“We have temporary foreign workers concerns, we have rural internet problems, our wharves are in back shape and need addressing, we have fisheries and oceans, obviously, is a huge concern in our ridings.”
The first meeting of the Atlantic Caucus will be held in January.
