Owner Of Farley Mowat Vessel Arrested In Wolfville

The search for the owner of the Farley Mowat vessel is over.

RCMP arrested Tracey Dodds Wednesday at a home in Wolfville following a search that lasted about two months.

He was found in contempt of court after failing to remove the vessel from the Shelburne Wharf, despite several deadlines.

Mayor Karen Mattatall says although Dodds is being held accountable, the vessel still remains.

“As much as we don’t want it there, we can’t legally just remove the vessel because it is not ours.”

Dodds will serve 20 days jail time at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Burnside.

Mattatall says the town plans to head back to court to discuss options of how to get rid of the vessel.
