Dry Conditions To Continue Most Of The Week

Firefighters looking for help from Mother Nature may get a break by this weekend.

Meteorologist Tracy Talbot with Environment Canada says it will continue to be dry and sunny for the next few days.

However, some precipitation could come later in the week.

“It is looking more favourable that some showers could start to move in Thursday, Friday and into the weekend.”

Talbot says amounts are not yet known.

“It’s really hard to tell exactly how much we’ll get and exactly where but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that some of the weather systems that will be approaching us this weekend will give us a little bit of that rain that we need across the province.”

She says the province has received well below average rainfall amounts in June and July.

Three wildfires continue to burn in Queens and Annapolis counties.

More than 15 fire departments are helping to try and get fires under control in Maitland Bridge and Seven Mile Lake.

A fire in Greenfield is contained but still burning.
