South Shore Library Is Getting Hip

Fans of The Tragically Hip who can’t make it west to take part in their final tour have another way to take in the show.

South Shore Public Libraries is hosting a live-stream at the Lunenburg fire hall.

Deputy Chief Librarian Jeff Mercer says it’s a great opportunity they didn’t want to pass up.

“A little bit uncomfortable just because we’ve never done anything like this before,” he says, “but, no, we’re very excited to try something new and just see how it works.”

The show is free but Mercer says they’ll be collecting donations for the Journey Room in honour of lead singer Gord Downie.

The Mariners Centre in Yarmouth and the Astor Theatre in Liverpool are also offering live streams.
