More than two dozen Nova Scotia Power technicians and supervisors helped restore life in Tampa.
Crews left Halifax roughly a week ago after Hurricane Irma knocked out power to millions.
Supervisor Shaun Bent says they worked 16 hour days to help Tampa Electric with the clean-up.
He says there is damage to homes, flooding, debris and power outages and he’s glad he could be there for support.
“It’s a great feeling to come here and be able to help the company as well as help out the customers. It’s a great opportunity.”
Bent says dealing with the different infrastructure needs, heat and conditions was challenging.
But, safety is top priority when reconnecting customers.
He says great progress has been made to get things up and running.
The crews returned home Sunday.
