The South Shore Lumberjacks flexed their muscles, defeating Summerside 8-0 yesterday afternoon. Logan O’Neil led the way with a goal and three assists. MacKenzie Janes stopped 37 shots for the shutout. The Lumberjacks improved their record to two wins and two losses.
In Men’s university hockey in Bridgewater, the Saint Mary’s Huskies beat the UPEI Panthers 7-2 in an exhibition game.
The UPS Store South Shore Mustangs are still looking for their first win of the season. The Mustangs lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Cape Breton West Islanders. Ben Charles, Evan Hennigar and Ewan Keays scored. Morgan Kini stopped 45 shots. The two teams meet again today in Cape Breton.
The O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes edged Kings Mutual 3-2 in a shootout. Konnor Benjamin scored both goals in regulation and Mason MacLean scored the shootout winner. The Hurricanes take on Dartmouth today.
The Liverpool Privateers dropped a 4-3 decision to the Sackville Blazers. Brady Meech scored twice and Brandon Pottie had the other goal for Liverpool.
