Bayview School Beefing Up Their Library

Bayview Community School in Mahone Bay is being adopted by Indigo.

It’s part of the Adopt a School program which provides new books for selected schools.

Coles in Bridgewater Mall will be fundraising on their behalf for three weeks.

Principal Craig Pottie the news came as a surprise.

“They contacted us and said that they were adopting us as the school for the program this year. They’ve been very supportive.”

Pottie says there’s a number of ways the school can benefit.

“We can have kids and people compose stories. For so many stories being posted, there’s up to 20 books available there. And for everything that is donated through either online, through Indigo, they make a donation to the school as well.”

Bayview will get all the money raised as well as a hefty discount on books which they can use at Coles.

Funds can also be raised by going to adoptaschool.indigo.ca website and sharing stories online.

The school receives an additional ten dollars for each story.

The campaign wraps up October 8.
