Snowshoeing is an inexpensive way to get exercise in winter.
Hike Nova Scotia is hoping to get people out on the trails in Lunenburg County.
For the 5th straight year, they’re offering winter guided snowshoe hikes.
Spokesperson, Janet Barlow says there’s been an upward trend in the number of events offered and people coming out since 2011.
“This year, we have more than we’ve ever had before. We have over fifty events and they’re all over the province.”
The Lunenburg County recreation department will be hosting a guided tour at Carver’s Woodlot on Sunday, January 17th.
Hike NS keeps an online listing of where to borrow, rent or buy snowshoes.
