MODL Councillor Takes Two Months Off

A councillor in the Municipality of Lunenburg is taking a two month leave of absence.

Lee Nauss has been involved with council for 49 years and has never taken a vacation.

He says he didn’t want to wait until it was too late.

“I looked around and I saw all the people my age, and all my friends,” he says, ” they’re getting sick. They’re saying ‘oh, I wish I’d gone somewhere before we got sick’ and we decided we’re going to take it this year.

Three other councillors will be covering his duties while he’s away.

Nauss heads for warmer weather on Jan 31.

He’ll be back at the table at the beginning of April.
