Police Ask Public Not To Conduct Own Searches Of Missing Teen

As police and Ground Search and Rescue teams continue their search for a Lunenburg County teen, they’re asking for the public to refrain from entering those areas.

Lunenburg District RCMP say they’ve encountered people in wooded areas in Simms Settlement conducting their own searches.

They say while the intentions are positive, it can hinder the formal search being conducted by them and police dogs.

To assist in the search, police area asking residents in the area to check exterior garages, camps, cottages, trailers, or abandoned vehicles on your property.

Sixteen-year-old Quentin Rafuse of Simms Settlement has been missing since around 10:30 am yesterday.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, shorts, and white sneakers.

He’s described as a white male with short brown hair and brown eyes, approximately 5 foot 7, and weighing around 120 pounds.

If you have information you’re asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
