Heat Wave About To End

The heat wave that has blanketed Nova Scotia for the past couple of weeks is due to break tomorrow.

Temperatures in the thirty degree range, which have approached 40 with the humidity, will drop into the mid-twenties.

Environment Canada Meterologist Ian Hubbard says while temperatures will fall, humidity is still a concern.

“Even though we are getting some showers and some cooler temperatures tomorrow, the showers are basically moisture, so they’re actually still contributing to the humidity in the air.”

Hubbard says the southwesterly winds which have been bringing the heat over the past few days will begin to shift to the northwest.

That will bring dryer, cooler air to the region for the weekend.
