Shelburne: Grand Opening To Be Held For Graham’s Park

The grand opening of Graham’s Park in Shelburne will be held Saturday afternoon.

It has been open for a couple weeks and includes a splash pad, playground equipment and an existing skate park.

The Town of Shelburne received a $260,000 donation from the Huskilson family to build the park on the former high school property at 35 King Street.

Mayor Karen Mattatall says it is making a positive impact.

“It’s wonderful to go by and see so many children out having fun. We don’t have easy access in the town necessarily for children to go swimming.”

The town and municipality also contributed $50,000 and $10,000, respectively, towards the park.

Mattatall says the donors are adding other features as well.

“It isn’t equipment but they’re putting a nice rod iron fence, they’re doing some landscaping and putting in 10 benches.”

A ribbon-cutting will be held and popsicles, cake and refreshments will be served.

Festivities get underway at 2 p.m.
