A new fire truck is in the works for the Bridgewater Fire Department.
More than a million dollars has been pre-approved for next year’s budget.
Chief Michael Nauss says the 33 foot pumper is made to order, which means it takes time.
“It takes about a year for it to be built before it will be here in Bridgewater.”
Nauss says the current truck still works fine.
However, regulations dictate it should be replaced every 25 years.
He says the old pumper will be sold once the new one arrives.
The tender is expected to go out before the end of September.
