MODL And Lunenburg To Share Building Inspectors

Building inspectors from the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg will be keeping a closer eye on the Town of Lunenburg.

Lunenburg Mayor Rachel Bailey say the two municipalities have entered into a shared services agreement where MODL will provide building inspections for the town.

“They have three building inspectors on staff who work all the way around us anyway – to venture into the town and look after our building inspection services as well.”

Bailey says inspection arrangements will still be made through the town and the only difference residents should see is quicker inspection times.

“We’re hopefully that this may be an improvement on the services that were available previously. Arrangements can be made at different times of the week and different times of the day that may have been possible before.”

Bailey says this is similar to shared service contracts the town has with other municipalities.
