Town of Yarmouth Providing More Water Tokens

The Town of Yarmouth has received 200 new water tokens.

Initially it had 100, but the recent drought saw people lining up at Lake George to fill containers.

Mayor Pam Mood says each civic address can purchase two tokens.

The tokens cost $1.25 and fetch the bearer 250-gallons of water from a dispensing unit near Lake George.

She says people can also go to the Mariners Centre.

“You can certainly come into town hall, you can pick up two tokens per household. The other piece is, we still have Mariners Centre, you don’t need a token for that. We’re just trying to make it easier for our neighbours to tap into the water supply.”
