It’s a chance to chat with local emergency workers without the pressure of a crisis.
The second annual Emergency Services Fair goes this Saturday.
Bridgewater Fire Chief Michael Nauss says the fair replaces an annual fundraiser.
“We decided we’d like to give back to the community instead of knocking on their door every second day asking for more funding,” he says. “Letting the people know just what exactly our job is like out there in the field.”
He says it’s a good way to meet the people who work everyday to protect you.
“So they know who’s going to show up at your door.”
Nauss says there will be plenty to take in, including free food, demonstrations, and a tour of the fire station.
He says it’s also a good opportunity to recruit new members.
Festivities get underway at 1 p.m. behind the Bridgewater Fire Department.
