The Municipality of Lunenburg is looking to join the 21st century.
CAO Kevin Malloy says they’re in the process of hiring a new communications officer.
He says one of their first tasks will be creating a social media presence.
A big step for the municipality, which doesn’t have a twitter account.
“You can fall into a comfort zone where you don’t do as good a job as you should be in trying to communicate and therefore you find residents don’t really have all the facts. Hopefully this is going to be a big step in the right direction.”
Malloy says until now, communications has been up to himself and other staff members.
But, he says they haven’t had the resources and knowledge to spread their message.
Malloy hopes to have someone in place before Christmas.
