New Germany To Host Tomorrow’s Municipality of Lunenburg Council Meeting

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is taking its community council meeting on the road tomorrow.

Council will meet in New Germany, and Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson says she hopes to see a good turnout of locals coming forward to participate.

“It gives people the opportunity to be close to home and be able to participate in our council meeting, and I’m very optimistic that we should have a good turnout of local people coming forward with some initiatives in their community,” she says.

One item on the agenda is the “Your Government, Your Ideas” consultation project.

“We’ve actually heard from over 1500 residents, we’ve had 17 public engagement events, 6 community events, and we’ve completed 4 surveys. Your feedback helps council make informed decisions,” she says.

Bolivar-Getson says holding meetings in different areas of the municipality is something she hopes will continue on an annual basis.

Council will meet at the New Germany Legion tomorrow night at 7:00. All are welcome to attend.
