Christmas came early at Queens Place Emera Centre.
The Region of Queens is moving ahead with plans to upgrade internet service at the recreational facility.
The work will be done by Bell Aliant and will cost just over $65,000.
Mayor David Dagley says people can expect stronger internet signal throughout Queens Place.
“You’ll have much better wi-fi, you’ll have faster speed and better data ability within the building. It’s what we need for a world class facility.”
The new service should be fully implemented before February’s World Junior Curling Championship.
“Our patrons who visit our facility deserve the best that we can offer in internet speed and using their electronic devices today which is the way of the world, we need to keep up with it.”
