UPDATE: Fatal Shooting On Big Tancook Island

New details about a fatal shooting on Big Tancook Island are being released.

A 52-year-old Halifax man was shot and killed on Friday Afternoon while hunting.

Corporal Andrew Joyce from the RCMP says a second man, who is believed to have fired the shot, was taken into custody and questioned.

“It’s definitely leaning to a non-suspicious shooting, that’s for sure, but, once again it would be premature for me to say one way or the other.”

The man has since been released, Joyce says he is fully cooperating.

“Both males were known to each other but were not together.”

He says the crime scene has been released but the investigation continues with an autopsy expected later this week.
