Liverpool is preparing to welcome the world.
The World Junior Curling Championships will hit the ice next month.
Greg Thorbourne, chair of the event, says things are running smoothly so far.
“Everything is going great and actually some of the countries have already been buying tickets and we’re ahead of the ticket sales we projected.”
Thorbourne says they have over 150 volunteers and are now starting to assign them their tasks.
In fact they have so many volunteers they’ve had to put some on a reserve list in case anyone backs out.
This is the second major curling event for the Region of Queens after they hosted the Canadian Curling Juniors in 2014.
Thorbourne says they started working on the World Juniors just shortly after hosting that major event.
The World Junior Curling Championships were last held in Aberdeen, Scotland.
