Medical students from Dalhousie will soon call Lunenburg and Queens home for a week.
The 10 students are participating in a work placement at the three hospitals in the two counties.
And NOW Lunenburg County is hoping to make an impression.
Population Growth Coordinator, Tina Hennigar, says they put out a call on social media for a weekend outing and the community pulled through.
“We got offered a tandem bike which would be really fun because we do have extraordinary trails in our community,” says Hennigar.
“We also had a gentlemen from Martin’s River offer us a boat which would also be really fun.”
Hennigar says when medical students visit our area, we need to show them why they should choose to live and work here.
“They can practice anywhere so why would they want to practice here? Why would they want to live and work here? We need to make that case.”
She asks anyone else who is able to provide another experience to contact her through the NOW Lunenburg County website.
The students arrive May 21.
