Bridgewater Man Charged After Fleeing Police On 103

On Thursday, members of Queens District RCMP were conducting radar enforcement when they noticed a vehicle travelling at 130 km/hr on Hwy. 103.

Corporal Jennifer Clark tells Acadia News an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, however the suspect sped away.

“Police did follow the vehicle for a short distance, when it became pretty obvious the suspect was having some vehicle trouble, the bumper fell off the vehicle and the vehicle started to smoke, forcing the driver to pull over”

Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the officer arrested the 23-year-old Lucas Greek of Bridgewater.

“He’s been charged with Flight from Police, Driving While Prohibited, Dangerous Driving, Breach of Recognizance, Operating an Unregistered Vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid Safety Inspection .”

Greek appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court today and was remanded.

He will return to court on May 8.
