Progress is being made on renovations to Lunenburg Academy.
Consultant Scott Burke is spearheading the renovations and says the design of the new library is just about complete.
He says the design is the result of a lot of people’s hard work.
“We’ve been working with a great group of designers and a very good library design committee. So we’re kind of excited where we are with that.”
Burke says the new library will use three classrooms and most of the open hallway on the first floor.
He says it will have a very new look.
“That juxtiposition of the very modern with obviously the strong heritage of the building we think, is very exciting.”
Burke says many upgrades have been made to the heating, electrical and data systems.
He says the interior plaster and painting has been done and they are basically ready for tenants on the inside.
Burke says they’re now turning attention to the exterior of the building to determine what needs to be done.
