Nova Scotia Power says that is activating its Emergency Operations Centre at 7:00 on Saturday night in advance of a storm forecast to bring mixed precipitation and icy conditions to the province.
Environment Canada has issued a Freezing rain warning for Lunenburg and Queens Counties, with a Rainfall warning in effect for Shelburne County.
The forecaster says that temperatures will fall rapidly between Saturday night and Sunday morning, with rain changing to freezing rain or ice pellets by early Sunday morning.
NSP warns that power outages may happen.
Nova Scotia Power says crews are in position throughout the province to ensure that they can respond as needed.
If outages happen, crews will restore power as soon as conditions are safe.
