Iranian military officials are taking the blame for the plane crash that killed 176 people, including 63 Canadians.
A Ukrainian International Airlines plane crashed near Tehran on Wednesday, killing everybody aboard.
Most of the victims on the Boeing 737-800 were heading to Canada.
Iranian president Hassan Rouhani says an Armed Forces internal investigation has confirmed that the missiles fired at the Ukrainian jet were “due to human error.”
He calls the tragedy an “unforgiveable mistake.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his focus remains on closure, accountability, and justice for the families of the victims.
He says they are working on a “complete and thorough investigation.”
