The Liverpool fire department is looking for a new place to practice.
The Fire Fighters Association is in talks with the Region of Queens to find a space where they can train and do controlled burns.
Chief Steven Parnell says the idea was sparked after an incident a few weeks ago.
“We had an excess amount of wood from our training session and when a couple of the guys went to light it they put a little more gas onto it then what they realized was on there and when it lit it caused a loud bang.”
Parnell says the noise frightened some near by residents so they approached the municipality to see if there was something a little further from people’s homes.
He says they hope to be set up by the end of the year.
