People in Lunenburg are being warned against a possible door to door scam.
In early November, a young man approached a house in the Blockhouse Hill area looking for donations.
He claimed to be with Bluenose Costal Action Foundation.
But when the homeowner asked for ID, the young man couldn’t produce any.
Brooke Nodding is executive director with the foundation.
She says that is not how they fundraise.
“We would never go door to door soliciting funds. If anybody does receive someone at their door claiming to be with Bluenose Coastal Action, please let us know.”
Nodding says the group takes a more structured approach.
“You buy tickets and you come to an event. That is mostly the way that we’ve done any fundraising. But we don’t actively fundraise. That’s not one of the things we do.”
The man is described as being in his twenties. He was well-dressed and carrying a clipboard at the time.
Anyone with any information should contact RCMP.
