Day one in the retrial of Terry Roy Levy was a busy one.
During the course of the day a jury was selected, the judge gave his preliminary instructions, the prosecutors gave their opening statement and the first witness was called.
RCMP Staff Sergeant Stephen MacQueen was first to take the stand.
He described the events of July 8th 2014 when Levy shot and killed Terry Green, his daughters long term boyfriend.
MacQueen testified that Levy was heard saying he expected to spend a long time in jail.
Levy’s defence attorney, Chris Manning, takes over this morning to question MacQueen.
Several more witnesses are expected to take the stand before the end of the day.
