First Responders Tracking Down Donations For Food Bank

Emergency responders will be answering an important call this Saturday.

Once again, Paramedics, RCMP and Bridgewater Police are collecting donations for the Bridgewater Interchurch Food Bank.

Organizer and paramedic, Nicole Monaghan says the food drive allows first responders to work together away from their day jobs.

“When we always get together for that, it’s kind of a negative thing. Usually it’s sad. So this was a nice way to bring a positive way for us to do something for the community and for the community to be able to meet us.”

She says it’s an opportunity for first responders to give back.

“We all got involved in our respective professions because we like to help people. This is just another way to reach out and help our communities and the place where we live.”

Monaghan says canned meat, baking supplies, tea, coffee, pasta and hygeine products are in demand.

Donations can be dropped off between 1:00 and 5:00pm at Bridgewater Superstore on Saturday.

The Bridgewater Police and RCMP stations will also accept donations anytime.
