‘Tide N Knots’ Fishing Vessel Back In Port At Yarmouth Harbour

A lobster boat that was taking on water is back in port.

A spokesperson for the Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre in Halifax says the 13-metre ‘Tide N Knots’ was about 17 nautical miles south west of Yarmouth when they first received the call this morning around 8:36.

Lt. Len Hickey says a Hercules aircraft dropped a pump to the vessel, and it made its way back to port under its own power.

‘Tide N Knots’ and its five member crew made it to Lobster Rock Wharf safely around 12:50.

The Canadian Coast Guard vessel ‘Giliget’ followed close behind.

Multiple fishing vessels assisted in the mission as well.
