Chester Changes Terms For Deputy Warden

The length of time is changing for people to serve as deputy warden in Chester.

Municipal council agreed to make it a two-year term, instead of four years.

Warden Allen Webber says some felt there should be more opportunity to experience role.

“In case they ever chose to run or had the opportunity to run for warden, that they wouldn’t be doing it without having some experience at the job.”

A deputy warden’s role includes filling in for the warden at council or community meetings when he can’t attend.

Once two years is up, council can choose a new deputy warden or remain status quo.

Chester will elect their next deputy warden on December 8.
