Got Snow Tires?

Mother Nature is having fun at our expense this year. She kept things pretty warm through most of October. Then, a sudden chill to make things interesting. Oh, and we’ll throw in a chance of a bit of snow, just to make some of the humans panic.

It’s not unusual this time of year to have a little touch of snow. It rarely sticks around for long, but it can happen. But it gives us a quick reality check about where we live and what time of year it is. We may not all be fans, but snow can happen this time of year. Or not. It just depends on which butterfly flapped it’s wings on the other side of the world.

But suddenly, everyone seems concerned about snow tires. Call any garage and ask about getting tires changed and you’ll likely find out they are booked up. Unless you booked long before the possibility of anything like snow was in the forecast, it could be weeks before you can get in.

I’m all for using snow tires. I didn’t always, but I have for the past few years and I find they do make a difference. I usually get mine changed over at some time in November, once the initial rush is over. In the meantime, if we get too much snow, I’ll just stay home. Or wait for it to melt.
