It’s true. Canada actually had a law based around witches, spells and wizardry.
Basically it was a punishable defense to say you were one.
Section 365 of the Canadian Criminal Code prohibited pretending to practice witchcraft, and other witchy things.
The craziest part, is that this law was still “a thing: till 2018. In 2018, the House of Commons passed Bill C-51, which repealed Section 365.
So watch out…The witches and wizards may be out in full force this Halloween!!
