First Responders on the South Shore are once again kicking off their annual food drive.
The 12th annual Haul-A-Day Food Drive is set to fill an emergency vehicle full of food for the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank.
“We start by filling the ambulance, however we have overflowed into the RCMP cruisers and town police vehicles as well” said Nicole Monaghan, Primary Care Paramedic with EHS.
“It’s a really fun community based event. We would love see everybody come out and join us.”
The event is a joint effort by the South Shore Paramedics, Bridgewater Police Service, and the Lunenburg County RCMP.
The food drive will be slightly different this year due to the COVID-19.
Unlike previous years, they will not be able to give out ballots normally used for a chance to win prizes. However they will still be at the donation site in person.
Monaghan hopes despite these changes and the pandemic making some people hesitant to go out, they will still have a successful day.
The Haul-A-Day food drive takes place at the Atlantic Superstore in Bridgewater on December 12th from 1-4:30 pm.
Those looking to make a contactless donation before hand can do so in a red bin outside of the Cookville RCMP station.
