Final Liberal Leadership Debate Tonight

The three Nova Scotia Liberal leadership candidates will meet and debate tonight for the final time ahead of the election.

Iain Rankin, Labi Kousoulis, and Randy Delorey will field questions from Liberal delegates in what will be the third debate amongst them.

The debate gets underway at 7 p.m. tonight and the event will be streamed online.

Communications Director for the Nova Scotia Liberals Micah Richardson says anyone can watch the event but if you want to have a vote on who will claim the leadership you have to be a registered Liberal delegate.

Registration to become a Liberal Delegate is always open but in order to be certified in time to cast a vote for the leadership, you must register no later than January 7.

The winner of the election will not only be the next Nova Scotia Liberal Leader but they will also become the province’s Premier after incumbent Stephen McNeil announced he would be resigning once a new leader was appointed.

The election is scheduled for February 6, 2021, currently, there are no plans to host a Liberal Party convention which is usually done in tandem with the party elections.
