Unique Degree Program Coming to South Shore

The South Shore Regional Centre for Education is partnering up with St. FX to offer a unique educational opportunity.

The two educational bodies will jointly offer an off-campus Bachelor of Education program with flexible hours for those looking to become a teacher.

The course will run on evenings and weekends, allowing participants to attend studies while still working part or full time.

“We recognize there are people who may be interested in obtaining their B.Ed. but can’t commit to classes on campus,” said Charmaine Romkey, Director of Human Resources for SSRCE.

“Classes will take place both face-to-face and online over a three-year period, providing great flexibility for prospective students.”

To qualify, applicants need to have completed or nearly completed an undergraduate degree. Participants will have the option to enroll in an elementary or secondary stream.

Some of the logistics of how the course will be delivered and when are still being worked out, however they expect to begin sometime in September 2021.
