Lunenburg County Pro Kids Program Receives $12,000

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg’s Pro Kids program has received a substantial boost.

The United Way of Lunenburg County is supporting the program with a $12,000 grant.

Pro Kids provides children and youth in Lunenburg County that are experiencing financial barriers the opportunity to participate in activities.

Program Coordinator, Tissy Bolivar, said funding for the program is extremely important to children and youth in the area.

“It will make a huge difference,” said Bolivar. “Having kids participate in sport, recreation and cultural activities is able to get them involved in the community, build self esteem and have some enjoyment in their lives.”

She said without funding from sponsors, fundraising and municipal contributions, they would not have the funds to be able to provide this opportunity.

All funds received by Pro Kids goes directly back to youth in the community.
