Weather Hampers Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign

The recent messy weather has affected donations to The Salvation Army.

Major Wilson Sutton says they didn’t have any volunteers collecting donations at kettles around Bridgewater last Monday or over the weekend.

Overall, they are at 73 per cent of their goal of reaching $65,000.

Sutton says he’s hopeful they can still make it, despite the obstacle.

“We’re just trusting that the weather will cooperate because that’s what gets the people out shopping and when the people are out shopping, they’re making their donations.”

Sutton thanks the community for their contributions to date.

The Kettle Campaign runs until Christmas Eve.
