A newly released document reveals one of the Bridgewater teens accused of sharing intimate images received them as a birthday gift.
The 36 page report, which outlines the investigation by the police service, was unsealed by the court on Monday.
The investigation uncovered more than 60 nude and suggestive pictures were shared using Snapchat, Dropbox and text.
The investigator, Constable Matthew Bennett indicates most of the images were sent willingly as part of an exchange where the boys would send a photo in return.
However, in at least one case the girl was unaware her picture was being taken.
Bennett goes on to say none of the girls were aware the photos were being shared.
Names of the victims, defendants and other students involved in the case have been blacked out in the document.
Six boys, including four 15 year-olds and two 18 year-olds, were charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.
No pleas have been entered yet.
The case will be back in court on January 11.
