Residents of Queens County have donated generously to their local food bank.
RCMP and Seniors Safety held the ‘Community Food Cruise’ on Saturday at Liverpool Superstore.
The event helped collect over 1,000 food items to the Queens County Food Bank along with $225 worth of gift cards and almost $600 in cash or cheques.
Co-chair Charlotte White says its the largest donation to date to the food bank.
“It leads me to alsmost cry to think so many people have done so much for us.”
She says the event helps fill their shelves at a busy time of year.
White says an average of 150 people will access the food bank every month.
