The Lunenburg Academy of Musical Performance just received a financial lift.
After being honoured earlier this year with the Community Arts and Culture recognition award, the town will present the $10,000 prize it received to LAMP.

That money will be the basis of a new community sponsorship with LAMP.
Lunenburg Academy Development Coordinator Scott Burke says the town’s support will help anchor LAMP at the academy.
“LAMP is using it in part to cover some of their rent here at the Lunenburg Academy. So we’ve struck up a new sponsorship with LAMP.”
Burke says the money will be used in a couple of ways.
“It’s really all about ensuring that stability. LAMP is going to be eligible for some federal funding next year. And it’s really important that they’re able to do their full year of programming in order to be eligible for that funding.”
Burke says the money will also expand on LAMPs community outreach programs including presentations in schools and nursing homes.
