The back and forth continues regarding public access to Sherbrooke Lake in Lunenburg County.
Greg Stokes presented a petition of about 200 signatures to an advisory committee to limit public use to the lake.
However, the Nova Scotia Federation of Hunters and Anglers and its roughly 5,000 members support public access.
There is no public access to Sherbrooke Lake.
However, Director Ron Seney says the lake should be enjoyed by everyone.
“It supplies a lot of winter and summer recreation and any effort to restrict access would be contrary to laws of the province.”
Public meetings have been held on the issue each month since last May.
Another one is scheduled for February 18 at 7 p.m at the New Ross Fire Hall.
