The cost of repairing and maintaining roads in the Town of Lunenburg is skyrocketing.
The town is already over-budget by $30,000 on ashphalt repairs and there are still more roads that need resurfacing.
But, town engineer, Marc Belliveau, says the real cost will be buying new equipment.
“The equipment is getting older and requires a lot of ongoing maintenance and repairs. We seem to be experiencing more break-downs than we have in the past,” said Belliveau.
Belliveau says three dump trucks, a sidewalk plow and a loader need to be replaced and should be included in the upcoming budget.
Lunenburg’s budget will be tabled in May.
