High School Staff, Students To Recognize Mary Fay

Student council at Park View Education Centre in Bridgewater will celebrate Mary Fay’s accomplishments.

The 17 year-old grade 12 student returned home today after winning the Canadian Junior Women’s Curling Championship in Stratford, Ontario.

Co-President Jacob Rowsell says council will buy Fay a Canadian flag.

“That we are all planning on signing throughout the school, get staff and students involved and we would all wish her good luck in her future endeavors wearing the maple leaf.”

Fay will represent Canada at the Youth Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway from February 12-21 and at the World Junior Curling Championships in Denmark, from March 5-13.

Rowsell says the atmosphere at the school has been amazing after students were told about Fay’s impressive victory.

Fay is expected to be busy after missing exams last week to play at the nationals.

She is also part of the student council and is involved in the International Baccalaureate program at Park View.
