Horse fans were likely glued to the tube on Saturday for the 152nd run for the roses. This year’s Kentucky Derby made history as Golden Tempo was crowned the winner.
Despite the fact that this horse came from dead last to pass every other opponent to take first, this is the first time a horse trained by a female won.
Just who is this legendary trainer?
Cherie DeVaux (born December 2, 1981) is an American thoroughbred racehorse trainer. In 2026, she won the Kentucky Derby as the trainer of Golden Tempo, becoming the first woman to train a derby winner.
