Acadia Broadcasting Names Justin Trudeau Newsmaker Of The Year

Canada’s Newsmaker of the Year is the country’s newest Prime Minister.

Justin Trudeau was the overwhelming favourite, according to a poll of all Acadia Broadcasting Newsrooms.

One highlight of the year for Trudeau was taking his Oath of Allegiance.

“I, Justin P.J Trudeau, do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, her heirs and successors so help me God.”

The son of former Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau led the liberal party to a majority government in his first election as party leader.

Meanwhile, we asked who you thought was the newsmaker of the year in Nova Scotia and most of our poll respondants said the premier.

Forty-three percent said they’ve been keeping their eye on Stephen McNeil.

Ten per cent thought it was Ellie Black, seven per cent preferred Mark de Jonge, and the final 40 per cent had someone else in mind.
